CHRISTMAS COCKTAIL CAPERS

It’s time to get into the Christmas spirit, and what better way than to liven up your silly season entertaining with a fun festive cocktail?

Hosting a Christmas party? Serve up a fresh and delicious cocktail, like our Merry Mimosa to suit the occasion.

We’ve opted for a fresh and fruity Champagne cocktail to suit the warm summer days and general sparkle of the holiday season!

To make your Merry Mimosa you’ll need:

  • 1 bottle of your favourite Champagne
  • Juice of 1 Pomegranate
  • 1 tbsp Pomegranate seeds per glass
  • Pomegranate syrup (sugar syrup)
  • Green rimming sugar

To make:

  1. Make your sugar syrup by heating equal parts sugar and water together slowly until solution begins to boil. After it has started to boil and liquid is clear, remove from heat source and let cool ( 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of sugar, once mixed with the pomegranate juice will be enough for 4 drinks).
  2. In a small saucer, pour in a little bit of your pomegranate syrup (1 tbsp or so)
  3. On a small plate, place the green rimming sugar.
  4. Lightly dip the rim of the champagne flute into the syrup (make sure you let excess drip off so that none of it runs down the sides of the flute).
  5. Next, dip the syrup coated rim into the sugar. Spin the flute to ensure the whole rim is covered.
  6. Spoon a tablespoon of pomegranate seeds into the bottom of the flute and pour two teaspoons of pomegranate syrup over the seeds.
  7. Open your Champagne and pour until the level is 1.5cm under the sugar rim.
